We’ve recently completed two exciting commercial lighting projects in Edinburgh.  One was for a longstanding customer, Dunedin Building Merchants, and the other for a new client, NCF Living, who were opening their first store in Edinburgh.

Each project was great to work on, and we’re thrilled to share the details of our work with you:

High bay warehouse lighting installed at Dunedin Building Merchants in Edinburgh.

Upgraded warehouse lighting at Dunedin Building Merchants

We were asked by Dunedin Building Merchants to transform their warehouse lighting.

The existing high-bay lighting system was outdated and no longer met the needs of the space, so we proposed a complete upgrade to modern, energy-efficient LED warehouse lighting.

Our team designed the lighting layout to ensure uniform illumination across the warehouse, taking into account the space’s specific requirements and the areas that needed the most light.

We specified and installed Ansell AZLP3/1 Hi/Lowbay 200W LED fixtures, which are known for their performance and reliability, and are backed by a 5-year guarantee.  These fittings provide bright, consistent lighting whilst reducing energy consumption and maintenance costs.

In addition to installing the new high-bay lights, we upgraded several other existing fixtures throughout the warehouse to LED,  improving the overall energy efficiency of the facility.

To ensure the new lights were securely and safely installed, we used chain mounts, which provided the necessary support for the high-ceiling installation.

Our team also carried out a full rewiring of the circuits to meet the latest electrical standards, ensuring that the entire system is safe, reliable, and capable of handling the increased load from the new lighting.

Throughout the project, safety was a top priority, and we worked from a scissor lift to ensure that all installations were carried out efficiently at height.

The end result is a well-lit, modernised warehouse with improved visibility as well as long-term cost savings through energy-efficient lighting.

Here’s some feedback from the client:

The new warehouse lights are great. Can’t believe the difference. Thanks again, we’re really pleased.

Retail lighting installation at NCF Living (Milton Link retail park)

We recently completed a commercial lighting installation for NCF Living in their brand-new store in Edinburgh.  With a tight timeline, we started by removing the existing electrical installations to ensure the site was safe and ready for work.

Our team designed and installed a bespoke lighting solution, featuring high-quality KSR track lighting and LED tape for ambient lighting.  We used MEWPs and scaffold to install the lights securely and completed rewiring throughout the store.  For long-term safety/serviceability, we installed containment systems to protect wiring and electrical components.

We also addressed the store’s growing electrical needs by installing a new three-phase distribution board with surge protection, as well as small power setups for signage, display units, and customer areas.  Additionally, we installed radial SWA circuits for air conditioning.

Our contract manager Chris co-ordinated the project, liaised with NCF Living and managed material deliveries to help us meet the demanding schedule.

When everythng was installed, we conducted commercial electrical testing (including dead and live tests) to verify functionality, safety and compliance.  Following successful tests, we issued electrical certificates and formally handed over the installation to NCF Living.
